Consultancy
With a focus on Ornamental Horticulture, sometimes it can take a bit of outside experience to help identify what your garden is lacking.
Some guidance to help make the most of your space can take many forms such as regular onsite visits to assess and guide progress, online discussions to talk through the processes required or a one off visit to help get things rolling in the right direction.
Design Services
Drawing upon a broad depth of experience and inspiration can make the difference between a garden area being forgettable and one that is fantastic.
I have designed entire woodland gardens down to small seasonal pot displays out the front of a small house to make it more appealing & welcoming.
My designs always have a heavy focus on the plants used, allowing for interesting combinations & contrasts that keep a space feeling familiar yet exciting.
Garden Development & Regeneration
One of the most enjoyable aspects of gardening is the seemingly simple task of making something out of nothing. Whether it’s designing & installing a large area or tackling an overgrown bed, there is nothing like the satisfaction in making an area an enjoyable experience to spend time in.
Planting, Labelling & Cataloguing
“I’ll remember what that is” is probably the most frequent lie that we tell ourselves when gardening! Sometimes it can get a bit overwhelming to try and figure out what plants are growing where in your garden. If this is the case, I can help identify, label & catalogue each and every plant in your garden if needed. Once a very simple database is established keeping track of what is growing and where becomes much easier.
Mentoring
Education is one of the most important things in gardening in my opinion. If you feel that you, or a staff member, could do with a brush up on certain areas of gardening this is something I can help with.
From basic botany to help with plant identification to in depth technical details explained in a relatable manner, I am deeply passionate about helping people become enthusiastic about their gardens and gardening.
Having been lucky enough to have some amazing mentors in my career I understand how important it is to someone’s confidence to instill a passion for learning in a meaningful and enjoyable manner
Lectures/Garden Talks
Following on with education, I regularly give talks & tours to garden clubs and international societies including the International Dendrology Society, the Scottish Rhododendron Society, the Royal Horticulture Society of Ireland & the Tree Society of Ireland.
If you would be interested in arranging a talk for your club/group please get in touch.
